Frito-Lay has issued a recall affecting thousands of bags of Doritos, citing a concern that a limited variety of its popular tortilla chip snack could contain ingredients that are not declared on the label.

The company announced the voluntary recall in an alert shared via the FDA website earlier this month.

According to an official statement, approximately 7,000 bags of 14.5 oz and 1 oz Nacho Cheese flavor Doritos "may contain undeclared soy and wheat ingredients from spicy sweet chili tortilla chips."

The statement continued, noting that "Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy or wheat run the risk of illness should they consume these products."

The recalled bags of chips were reportedly distributed only in Pennsylvania retail stores and other outlets, such as food service locations and vending machines, as early as June 29, 2023.

No allergic reactions related to the concern of undeclared allergens have been reported to date, and no other Frito-Lay or Doritos products, flavors, sizes, or variety packs are expected to be included in the recall.

Consumers in possession of the recalled product are being advised to contact Frito-Lay Consumer Relations at 1-800-352-4477 (9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. CST, Monday-Friday).
